This sketch of Madonna is hanging over the two top table in my studio. I randomly acquired this piece a couple years ago as it was left in an apartment when I moved in. My mom googled the artist and it turns out this drawing is apparently worth a lot of money!
When I first moved into my apartment I had planned on hanging my surfboard from the ceiling so I drilled holes and attached string to the ceiling. My landlord wasn't pleased with that idea and the string just hung up there for about 6 months. I finally decided to clothespin some photos to it. Photos include family, friends and inspirational clippings.
This is the Anheuser-Busch girl and it hangs at the entryway to my studio. I found it at a thrift store and I like the rustic feel of it.
This is a little mirror I bought in Morocco. It's apparently made out of elephant tusks, which now that I think about it, is really horrible because that means an elephant had to die. Guilt. But I think the market boy was lying to me anyway. It hangs above my kitchen sink. (Perfect for staring at myself while I cook and clean) The light in my kitchen is very yellow so this exposure looks neon.
This collection is my little spice nook. Up top, a photo of the American West, a muddler I got as a party gift, and spices. To the right, a newspaper photo cutout of UW-Madison students celebrating Obama's win in the 2008 presidential election (I'm in the picture), a coffee bean grinder, more spices. Bottom left, a gold letter M, coffee filters, spices, a lemon. The whites cubes I got from a friend who no longer wanted them.
Almost everything in my apartment is thrifted/second-hand. Not only is it extremely cheap but it's more unique that way as well. I'll post the rest of my wall hangings soon.
